"Anyone selling any good magic maces?!" he asked.
"I am. I have a surpassingly accurate hammer pick
of force." I told him.
"It's mine." he said.
I then noticed who the man was. It was Erasmus the
Grim! (back from story First Blood, where I accidently spelled his name
Eramis.) Oh and, that was his mace. :)
"I know, you were so gracious to donate it." I told
him.
"Yeah right, you stole it." he informed me.
"No, really? Would you rather I took it off your
bleeding corpse? I'll sell you it for 2,500." I told him.
"HAHA, you could never kill me. I'll buy it for
2K." he said.
"Yea ok man, you were about 2 hits away from death before
you recalled last time, you are so lucky. And no, it's 2.5k or no
mace." I told him.
"I'm not going to pay 2,500 for my own mace."
"Then how about this... we fight again. If you win,
you pay only 2,000. If I win, you pay 2,500, deal?" I proposed.
"Fine." he responded.
I was happy. I was going to have a 1 on 1 weapon
to weapon rematch with an old adversary who managed to escape the first
time. We were going to have the duel outside the entrance to Destard,
so I grabbed my favorite war fork and let him use my rune. He recalled
and I followed.
"Kal Vas Flam" were the only words I saw when I
arrived. Hmmm, that doesn't seem like a weapon attack. Suddenly
my HP was down to half, he had violated our agreement. It was time
to kick ass. I drank down a greater heal potion I stole off of someone
else earlier that day and was then up to 3/4 hp. I pulled out my
heavy xbow and began to whoop some ass.
The fight ended with me at almost full HP and him 1 hit
away from death (about 10 hp or so) and recalling. Once again he
managed to escape to due OSI's poor coding with the recall spell.
Hmm, 2 seconds to cast recall and 20 to cast something small and insignificant
like "summon creature", nice balance Origin!
I wasn't able to find him after the fight. Too bad,
if the criminal flag didn't wear off I would have finished the job, and
then made fun of him till he died of embarassment. Oh well, there
will be another opportunity in the future.
