"I'LL BUY THE HOUSE AND RUNE FOR 3k." he said.

"Deal." I replied as I placed the key and rune into a trade window.

"NO, I NEED TO SEE IT FIRST." he said.

"Very well, bring the 3k along and I'll show you the house, then we'll trade there."

"OK."

We made our way to an empty spot when I was asked to drop the rune.  I snooped his pack to make sure he brought the money.  He didn't.

"Where's the money?"

"I HAVE IT."

"No you don't, I don't have time for games.  Go get it or you're not coming."

He went to get the money then returned.  I snooped him once again.  Obviously he missed a zero because he had 300 gold instead of the 3000.

"I said to go get the money, are you stupid?"

"I HAVE THE MONEY."

"NO, YOU HAVE 300 GOLD.  THE DEAL WAS 3000!" I yelled, really pissed off that this newbie was wasting my time.

"LOOK I JUST WANT TO SEE THE HOUSE ILL PAY YOU WHEN WE GET BACK." he said.

I decided to go along with his little plan.  I let him recall to the house then I recalled as well.  He was standing next to the door when I arrived asking me to open it.

"Back off from the door and I'll open it.  I don't want you running in." I said.

He backed off and I opened and closed it quickly.  He then said the thing that steamed me up so bad.

"I WANT TO HOLD THE KEY" he said.

"What the fuck for?" I replied, the first time I ever cursed during a business transaction.

"TO MAKE SURE IT'S THE REAL KEY, I DON'T WANT YOU GIVING ME A FAKE ONE AT THE BANK." he said.

"Are you stupid? If you would have brought the money like I asked you then I wouldn't have to give you the key, because I'd only be carrying one key."

"OH WELL, TOO LATE FOR THAT GIVE ME KEY I WANNA GO INSIDE."

There was no way I was gonna give him the key, so I opened the door and let him walk in so he can take a look see.  He walked around commenting on how nice a house it was and that he was interesting.  He then said something that severely pissed me off, thereby changing him from a client (business partner) into a customer (victim of robbery.)

"OK LET ME HOLD THE KEY NOW."

"I've had enough of your games." I said as I walked over to him and stole all his black pearl in order to prevent a recall.

"HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING."

"I've had enough of your bullshit man.  You've wasted fifteen minutes of my time with your little games.  You obviously don't want the house." I told him.

"NO I DO, PLEASE I JUST WANT TO HOLD THE KEY." he said, standing in the same spot the whole time.

I stole his rune to Trinsic.

"DAMNIT STOP PLEASE.  GIVE BACK MY PEARL AND RUNE AND WE'LL TRADE." he begged.

"No." I said, he went outside.

I walked up to him getting ready to steal again.  I noticed he had crossbow bolts in his backpack so I decided to steal those for my friend.  He took out his crossbow.

"Tell you what, if you give me all your crossbow bolts I'll let you hold the key.  That way, you can't kill me once you have it."

"FINE" he said.

I put the key into a trading window then opened his backpack.  I moved right next to him then canceled the trade.  I then stole all 106 bolts.

"DAMNIT MAN, STOP THIEF." he yelled, obviously as angry as I was by now.  Only now I was laughing instead of steaming =)

To make a long story short, before finally recalling to Trinsic I had obtained from him the following:  11 black pearls, 8 mandrake roots, a rune to the Trinsic Bank, the 300 gold he brought along, and 106 crossbow bolts.  Shortly after stealing the last item I was plnaning to steal, we said these few words.

"ASSHOLE, YOU LITTLE THIEF."

"Sigh, if only you would have been more adult about this and not played your silly little games.  I could have sold you the house half an hour ago, but you had to be all childish about it.  Have a nice walk back to town."

I then recalled and laughed on the bank roof along with the others after they heard my tale.
 
 
Moral of this Story:  Don't screw around like a little kid when you're trying to buy a house from someone.  There's no way they are going to let you hold the key until they have their money.  Also, don't insult the guy who's holding your rune and reagents, if he decides to leave (which he will if he's as impatient as me) then you're stuck.  By the way PEWTER, if you're reading this I hope you made it back to Trinsic in one piece. =)
