Wonderful Day for a Walk

This story starts out in the plains north of the Chaos Shrine.

It had been a slow day.  My friend Katanji and I had been staking out houses all day, hoping for even a glimpse of loot, since our guildhouse had been looted the night earlier.  I grew tired of simply hiding behind the neighborhood vendors waiting for the slight chance that someone might recall so that I may steal their keyring :)  So, Katanji and I parted ways.

I hadn't been around the dungeon Wrong in a while, so I made off wearing my mighty shroud of death and a spear, which I had decided to "borrow" from a passing newbie. I'm sorry to say that most of the trip to Wrong was rather uneventful;  a mongbat ran into my spear and I slaughtered an orc mage.  However, my decision to walk on past Wrong was indeed a good one.

I'm not a big fan of the UO house craze.  To be honest, it's kind of my life's work to "rid" Britannia of as many houses as possible to eliminate the lag curse which plagues the land :)  Not far after the path which leads into Wrong valley, I came across a large forge with one occupant named RUS.  I took time long enough to peer at his paperdoll and quickly moved on my way.  By this time, I was growing weary of my adventure.  However, I lack the skills, desire, or need to recall usually, so I turned around and headed back toward the guild house.

About a minute later, I encountered a man named Jyhad.  I opened his paper doll and immediately noticed he was wearing the exact same clothes as RUS had been (this never ceases to amaze me  ).  So, I walked up to my new friend and popped my usual distraction small talk..."hail sir, which way is XXXXX".  In this case, I believe I used Britian.  To my delight, he decided to carry on a small discourse with the Scoundrel Slick :)  "I think it's southwest," he replied.  Close enough I suppose, but nonetheless I decided to pop another brain teaser to Mr Jyhad.  "Are you sure?  I thought it was west."  By now, I had already snooped him and discovered a ring full of keys, which were ripe for the taking.  While he was thinking of how to reply, I zipped in, ganked the key ring, and was off running with a small head start.

"Actually, it's sou...fucking thief!" was his reply :)

Being on a fairly slow connection, I decided to hide up by a keep and wait out the storm.  Damn....I hate trackers :)  Now on an average day I would have just fought the man and probably won, but I was armorless and Sir Jyhad appeared somewhat an accomplished fighter.  When Sir Jyhad finally discovered my hiding spot, his friend RUS comes along :)  Well, now I know where to loot....thanx guys!

"In Flam Grav" both began to chant.  This was indeed the most fun part of the journey.  I love to watch players waste countless reagents on firewalls, as I simply move out of the way and quickly hide again.  After about 10 tries each, they each decided to summon up a blade spirits to attempt to vanquish the mighty thief.  Is it me or are all non-evil players dumb?  I jetted as soon as they started casting and gave myself a hefty 5 second head start, which was more than enough to lose the both of them.  I walked back to the guild house and summoned up 2 of my fellow SoN guildmembers, Killer and Katanji.  We returned to the large forge where we found my friends RUS and Jyhad.  We quickly dispatched RUS, but Jyhad said "Kal Ort Por" and vanished from sight, despite the rusted edge of my spear sticking in his side.  RUS had on his corpse the MASTER key to the forge and I now owned Jyhad's keyring.....lucky day :)  We entered the house and looted the remaining valuables, which amounted to little more than a pure black dye tub and some potions.  RUS hung around shouting "OooOoOO" over and over again. We responded with stuff like "thanx for the forge and armor", so he eventually decided getting res'd was less embarrassing than being ridiculed and he left.  All in all, it was a decent adventure and there are many more to come.....
