So, I log in expecting to see all of my shit gone, but thankfully it wasn't. I madly start making plans to buy a new house so I can get my collection of items secured. I icq Vapor to find out if he knows of a good place to put a house since our area is swampland and tough to build on (but not many people come by there). He told me to hold off because he's having to buy another place tonight because he has a large forge too. I don't like roommates - I hate them. I've had a tower (my favorite), a castle, a 2 story and a small house looted - all because a roommate died with a key on them. But, I know Vapor in RL and he's damn UO savvy, so he's the one person I trust.
It turns out that he and another friend of mine, Temptress, went out and purchased and placed a TOWER for Vapor and I. Hell yeah. What was funny is that they did it because it was my birthday (9/24) and they just wanted to do something cool for me. Well, that qualifies!
I spend a lot of time moving my stuff from the large forge to the new, tent protected tower. What a thrill. I absolutely love towers - I think they're the best structure you can buy in UO.
I got back to the tower around 5am after doing some unusually late night hunting. I found Temptress up on the roof.
Busted. She was preparing for my surprise "party" later that night. Temptress is a role-player and she made the roof
look great. Guess how old I am... :)
She started shooting off fireworks, had a 4 "layer" cake and the whole 9 yards. What a cool chickie. She even gave me a birthday "card" from her and Vapor.
I know it's not my average day of killing, looting, stealing and general ass beating - but it was cool. I would never have thought that someone would stay up until 5am in the morning to setup something she'd obviously spent some some preparing for. I mean, it's a video game and I'm someone she's never met. Man, this game has some of the coolest fuckin people...
