My main character was red for three weeks. I took a murder count and then before I was blue again, I accidentally took another (which reset my 40-hour timer). I played as I normally would because I can handle myself in most situations plus I wasn't in danger of having stat loss, so why pussy out just because I was attackable? I didn't.
Well, my main hangout in game is in Deceit. Lots of fights and other fun things always going on. Well, coincidentally, that's where a large number of Korean guilds also hang out. I don't know if they're actually at war with anyone, but it seems that their lives are focused on gangbanging greys or reds. So, needless to say, I became very used to the procedure of seeing one run on my screen, see me, run off, and soon 5-20 more come back with him for a nice even duel. :/
Anyhow, two days ago I finally became blue. Well, since I pulled MANY "get one of you away from the group and kill you" moves that I did to them daily for several weeks, apparently they're willing to attack me now even though I'm blue. That, my friends, is a tragic error in judgement. I've given 5 of them murder counts (sending two red), while they got none of my loot. Why? Well, because I want THEM to feel what it's like to be attacked (and probably gangbanged) all the time if they play anywhere.
So, one of my former assailants, chobo, is red and running through Deceit today. I attack alone and he recalls without even thinking of fighting even though I'm alone. *shrug* he's a gangbanger, what should I expect - a 1on1? Hardly.
Anyhow, he comes back two minutes later and I attack again. He actually takes the time to type out "hehe" before he and I both realize that a few more people are interested in him kissing dirt. Unfortunately for chobo, it was over before the others even got to him. A simple "ting, explosion, ebolt" sent him on his way. Oh lookie - a key! Apparently, someone isn't a very SMART red.
Sure enough, the fucker had a rune to his house on him to, which Brules was nice enough to loot for me after I got the key. So, Brules, Raven and I happily recall off the one possible rune it could be. Two doors over and "you quickly unlock, open, and relock the door". Well, I just unlock it for good measure and help myself to the chests he has inside.
It was a small house with the back wall stacked full of chests (5 tiles at 5 per tile = 25 chests). Unfortunately, only 9 or so had any stuff in them at all. Fortunately, he was a moron and didn't lock any of them down. I gated all the ones with stuff in them home, killed his horse and dumped all the trash boxes on the corpse so they'd decay. I wanted this guy to understand he'd been hunting the wrong guy for the past three weeks. Payback is a bitch.
Right after we get done emptying the place out, chobo and a friend of his in the same guild show up. We're all inside and when the door opens we all just start laughing when he sees the place empty. Of course, since he doesn't speak our language, he probably didn't understand our words - but I'm sure the empty house and our carrying on got the message across plenty.
Chobo again died in his own house as his friend was worthless in helping him. All in all, I got to make one moron red and show him that it isn't easy to do. And if you fuck up, it can cost you a lot more than just the regs you brought with you. Of course, the fact that I got to teach this lesson to such an ass assassin gangbanger made it all the sweeter.
