Fishermen Murderers

This story takes place on the oceans of Baja...

I couldn't believe that I was going to start a fucking fisherman. I'd sunk to an all time low. But, on the other hand, I love rare stuff and it was just too easy to "macro your way to rares". So, I made a fisherman. Thankfully, my roommate and I have a third account and third computer, so it wasn't taking away from any of my playing time to make him.

Turns out the next day Ronald, Temptress and Brules all make fishermen. So, we go out and have a sociable time while fishing. Anyhow, I finally catch the first SOS of the bunch that night while macroing, so Brules and I agree to meet up to hunt for the coordinates. We head out with my fisherman, Brules' fisherman and Nighthawk.

We quickly discover that people like to macro on their boats in the middle of the ocean. We also found out that you have to macro with a key on you or you end up back on shore if you lose connection. I'm not the type of guy who gets off on killing macroers, but since macro fishermen have tons of loot, a free boat, rares, SOSs, etc - obviously, that means we're going to end up killing someone. NH couldn't take another murder, so the two fishermen had to do the dirty work. Erin was our first victim and our strangest encounter. I guess it was strange because we hadn't ever looted a boat before. We got on her ship my looting the key off her body and letting ourselves on. As you can tell by the picture, the boat was empty except for what was on her body and what was in the hold. Well, in the hold was about 20 more SOS bottles and some rares. They're worth about 2k each in gold, magic weapons, regs, scrolls and most importantly - rare items.

Suddenly I lose connection. I tell Brules I crashed from my other computer and then log back in. BAM! I log in and see that the deck of the boat is covered with chests! Brules is naturally confused by my excitement when I log back in, but after he relogs he sees exactly what I was talking about. Score one for the looters! You can't beat it when a crash HELPS you.

There were 3 or four bags in front of the mast on that ship. Turns out there was about 30k in gold in them along with some other interesting goodies. By the time we got back to the tower to drop off the loot (to free up deck space for more looting, of course), the bags had disappeared. I don't know when they disappeared, but presumably when crossing a server line. It sucked and I figured there was nothing that could be done, but Brules called a counselor. The counselor said that decks of ships were not secure, so Brules responded appropriately.

Well, we didn't get the gold back, but that wasn't too surprising. So, we carried on. Since we'd looted about 30 SOS's, we had plenty of reason to sail about both looking for sunken treasure and fisher macroers. We came across not one, not two, but three macroers with a ton of loot each (including more SOSs!). Myth apparently came back to find his macro had ended in an unpleasant way, so we told him how to find out more about us. He seemed to be appreciative that we left him his ship and he happily sailed off. :)

Total tally for the looting is truly unbelievable. More paintings, globes, bones, pillows and other rares than can be counted (yes, my tower looks awesome now). Tons of magic weapons including one silver war axe of vanquishing and misc stuff that was sold for 60k+. Not to mention about 50k gold. All that from four macroer kills. Not a bad couple of nights.
