Coby the Cat Burglar

One fine eve, My Associate Averon, and Myself decided to see what fools Cove held within it's reaches, so off we set for the Rural town.  Upon reaching, most of it's townspeople were inside it's walls protected by it's maniacal Guards, so, we did what every good Thief does superior to anyone else.... waited.

Our wait was short, for after a few minutes three men step out from within, two youthful mages and a rather Muscular Warrior, who looked as if he had the experience that came with age. Averon, in desperation whispers to me, "Well, Methinks the robed one is heading to that door, I'm going for his keys, You steal what you can to make this fight more to our advantage."

"Very well, and Good luck," I whispered back.

We both broke from the shadows and rode our horses straight into the lot of them. Quickly and silently as the elder tried to make conversation with us by saying, "Hail", Averon swiped the keys and I grabbed 64 black pearl from within the other mages pack and we swiftly took to the forests on the edge of town. There we waited...

"Hmmmm," I think aloud, "Must not have noticed out thefts..."

"Aye" replies Averon, "Maybe we should go back and make them aware?"

I chuckle a bit, "Tis the only honorable thing to do."

We took back to the men, who were still standing outside the house, obviously trying to figure out where the keys went...

Averon cleared his throat and sarcastically announced, "Sire, I must thank you for This new lovely abode."

The robed mage, by the name of Blake Guru, Looked at Averon quizzically then Yelled to all... "THIEF!"

I quickly stole his pearl and laughed to myself, knowing that the disadvantage that they were at was incredible now that neither him nor his friend had the reagents needed for Energy Bolt. The warrior quickly attacked Averon who took a few steps and fired an arrow upon him, dropping him to a little less than 3/4th's health. I stood there still laughing, but now outloud while I looked in the other mages Pack and this time swiped his set of keys and quickly bolted into the house. The two mages ran in after me and stood there motionless (Probably getting the message, "You do not have the reagents to cast that spell").

I laughed then boldly shouted, "Well Well, Perhaps if you were to drop all you have on you, since you really have nothing to hurt me with, I won't kill you, and you may get your keys back after we take what we want."

Before I could even finish the sentence, I saw the words "Corp Por" Followed by me losing about half of my health. I was stunned by surprise and wondered how in the blazes he did that. Then I realized, we are in their house, must have a supply somewhere. I quickly drank a heal potion almost replenishing all of my lost health and Fired arrows at him while I snooped his pack.... Bingo, 40 black pearl. I grabbed it again and ran to the corner. His friend then attacked me by dropping a firewall atop me. While Blake was searching for more black pearl I focused my attack on his comrade... Four quick shots and he was down. I was then pummeled by another Energy Bolt from blake, again I ran up to him and searched for his reagents, I found his pearl, but not in time to keep him from casting it once more and nearly killing me. I again ran to the corner of the small house and drank a heal potion.

About this time, Averon dashed into the house followed by the warrior who looked to be near death, with his friend that I had already killed following close behind in his death robe. They all piled in effectively trapping me in between a trapped peasant a couple of chests and Averon. I yelled for him to move and he quickly did. As I attempted to take a step Blake dropped a box in front of me then moved in behind it, Making it so I had nowhere to go. He then began beating my plate with his War Mace and the weak link, the death robed mage, cast firewall on me. I watched my life slowly drain as I tried to figure out what to do, all while the other mage was throwing explosion potions at me and the Peasant. The worst part of this scenario being, I had stopped attacking Blake to steal his mandrake, and now he was attacking me, but I was defenseless, less I wanted to lose notoriety for re-attacking him. Then, I saw my chance, The other mage had thrown one last Explosion killing the peasent, and giving me room to maneuver, I quickly started heading the other direction, dropping boxes behind me, and infront of Blake, Averon dashed back outside leading the warrior with him to give me room to escape. I moved one last box putting me face to face with the weak mage, and plugging him with another arrow, ending his life again. I was in front of the door when I saw that the warrior had disappeared, leaving it to be, me and Averon, versus a Blake Guru, equipped with an abundant supply of Heal potions. Alas, Blake's death was his own fault, you see, Averon and myself, being dastardly, were not about to attack Blake, but Blake, I would suppose feeling heroic, attacked both of us simultaneously, putting himself in a two on one situation.

       "The battle was quick,
        and the Loot was thick,
        Myself overweight,
        Over my head in plate,
Boy did I sure feel slick"

After dropping the items we deemed less important, we quickly galloped to Vesper to put our loot on our Cargo Ship. Feeling as though, we were missing something, we rode back to Cove and the minute we showed up, a smith opened the door to his shop and walked out...

I quickly rushed in and began Grabbing all I could see. The little man ran in right behind and began spouting "Guards Guards Guards!!" I chuckled, and relieved him of his keys as I said, "Sire, that yelling will do you no good, You are not in protection of the guards out here, Bluntly put, I have a new house, and you just became a common street rat."

He then ran outside yelling at all to help him, while Averon and I looted all that was important then took everything that wasn't, outside to all the peasants that had gathered around from the commotion. I unlocked the house and changed the sign to read,

"Under new management, Free smithy open

                -Coby"

We made our way back to Vesper Laughing the whole way, and thinking of how our real estate was rapidly growing....
