Man of Many Talents

This story takes place outside the city limits of Minoc.

Had been a hard day of stealing near Minoc which had led me here. I was trying to scrounge together a bit a gold to buy My Brother, Ziles Drakeswind, a set of matching armor, this, of course, led me to the Minoc armor shop. Not even a minute after my brother and I had walked in a Man named Laertes Galloped into the middle of the store on his horse, "Are you a Blacksmith?" he asked, looking directly at me. (Now this was too good to pass up)

"Aye sir, that I am, didst thou need to buy some wares?" I replied as humbly as possible.

"No No," he answered," I need someone to repair my armor." (JACKPOT!)

"Well Sire, I will indeed help thee."

He then handed me his magic viking which I accepted without hesitation and said, "Hmmm, I know that needs repairs, go ahead and repair that, and I will check the rest of this to see."

DRAT! I couldn't just keep the sword, that would make the whole thing more pathetic than cunning, I thought fast and noticed an opening...

"Sire, didst thou plan to Pay for my services?"

"Oh yes, of course, but I'll have to go to the bank."

I quickly put the sword back in the trade window as I replied, "Well then, take this and give it back to me once you have some gold."

He quickly galloped out of the store and returned a few minutes later and abruptly handed me 200 gold. (What a cheapskate)

"Thank ye Sire," I said smoothly, "Now you may hand me thine armor."

He again put his sword in the window, then there was a momentary pause...

"Awww hell, I'll just give you all of it and you can repair what needs it ok?"

"Very well sire," I blurted out, tense with joy that my plan had worked.

I stood there motionless for about 3 minutes deciding I'd play with him a bit...

I then started putting a piece of armor at a time in a trade window between him and myself till I had put it all in there.

"All done," I smirked.

He checked the box and I cancelled out the window and proceeded to walk out.

"Uhmmmm," he mumbled in my direction.

I turned around, "Yes Friend?"

"I didn't get it.." he lowly hissed.

"No, I guess ye really don't get it do you?" I sarcastically replied as I walked to the bank.

Of, course he followed me nagging the whole way, and nagging even after I hid at the bank, and nagged as I changed from my black plate to my gold, and continued to nag at the same spot as I slowly walked out of town leaving him to look like more of a fool than he already did.

I then proceeded to Trinsic where I had hopes of joining the new rebellion against British, all who were ready to join had been given instructions to wait at the Keg & Anchor tavern in the middle of town so there is were My brother and I proceeded. No sooner had we sat down that I noticed another fool that looked as he was just itching to lose some property, and I was just the man to scratch...

"Hail gents, art thou here to join the Rebellion too?" said Parker, a mage looking fellow wearing a stupid grin and a black robe.

"That we are friend, and glad to see you will be joining us," replied Ziles.

"Well," started Parker slowly, "I do not know for certain I will, you see, I just purchased a guildstone, and I am afraid that I am currently the only member, so if I resign to join the rebel's I will lose the 15k I spent on it."

"Hmmm, what kind of guild is it Friend? I may be interested in joining," Ziles said sweetly as he nudged me in the ribs.

"Ahhh yes, I would be delighted to join a guild," I played along, "But I must warn thee, I am not one to be trusted, in the likes of nobility and such."

"Splendid!" said Parker, "Tis the start of a thieves guild, you two would be perfect!"

"Aye, that we would," said my brother, and partner in crime, "Perhaps we should stroll out to your house and join then?"

"Yes! Lets go," Parker Yelled Joyfully. (if he only knew)

After several HOURS of searching for the correct mountain, he FINALLY found the one that was located near his house so we walked up to his door and I swiftly opened his pack,  No key... Ahhh, on the vendor I suppose, I said to myself. Sure enough I saw him drop the key in his pack, open the door, and quickly place it back in the vendor.

It took him a while to add both of us and give us titles that he thought suited us, which really didn't matter to me, I had nothing better to do than case a house...
After he was done he motioned for us to leave and opened the door. I walked out, then he did, but... Ziles didn't...

"Hmmm", he said, and I mimicked as I opened his pack again, I noticed the key plop in, and then I noticed it fall neatly into the palm of my hand. I quickly ran in and locked the door behind me, I then kicked him out of his own guild And then began laughing harder than I had ever laughed before. Not because of getting the house and stone from him mind you. Nay, I laughed because after emptying all of his chest, I noticed his OTHER Master Key, lying in the bottom of the last chest we looked in!
