This story takes place about two months ago (or whenever the latest theif patches were introduced).  After joining the npc theif guild, and playing with the disguise kit, I made my way to the Carpentry shop as I usually did.  I found the Architect and hid right next to him, in hopes that someone would come buy a house deed (which would really in turn mean buying me a house deed). 

Anywho, since my theif has been around awhile and has 95+ hiding, stealing, and 100 snooping, stealing deeds in front of npc poses little to no threat.  Please note that this was pre-dumb patch, meaning I could snoop while hidden.  After a little waiting and watching some newbies come in and out, a man on a horse rode up to the door.  Hoping this would be my man, I said "Arne" (the Architects name) so he would stand still for a little while, then hid next to him. 

My guess is that the guy on the horse didn't see me hide, because he rode right up to Arne and proclaimed my favorite words "Vendor buy".  He actually had a moronic macro for vendor buy bank and all that shit, but you get the point.  While he was browsing for my future house, it gave me a chance to open his backpack.  Besides his main, he had a little pouch under his spellbook.  (Sidenote: For some reason, some people still believe that putting your spellbook over a pouch makes it snooping proof *shrugs*)  Anyway, thinking that he would pick one soon, I brought up my stealing cursor.  After about 15 seconds, I decided to refresh my cursor so that it wouldn't time out.  Then the guy just leaves, doesn't buy anything. 

After yelling at the computer, I icq'd my friend and made plans for later on.  When I come back to the game, I see the same guy coming back, so I repeated my previous actions and hid next to Arne.  Hoping he had just checked prices the first time and was ready to buy now, I once again brought up my stealing cursor.  Then  came the moment of glory, a deed appeared in his backpack.  As quickly as it appeared, it then dissapeared into my hands.  Noticing that it was a clean steal, I went rather slowly to the door just because I love hearing what people have to say about me. 

After a cancelled Kal Ort Por, the man approached me outside as I started runnning to the bank.  He ran in front of me, and said "You motherfucker!".  Following that was a bolt from a heavy xbow.  It did some damage but nothing to be worried about.  But instead of being dumb and cocky, I made a beeline for the bank.  After a few more missed bolts, I got far enough away so that i could say Bank and hide. 

I put the deed into my bank and sighed with relief.  Then I thought "Wtf am i doing?"  I hadnt even checked the deed yet.  I figured it was a small house cause that's all I have ever stolen before.  To my surprise it said "a deed to a stone-and-plaster two story".  This made me very happy as I had always wanted a 2-story.  (Yes it has since been placed)  Soon there after the guy recalled.  For a brief moment I felt bad since I just robbed a guy out of 190k.  However my feelings of pity were overcome when I thought about how much money I had just acquired.  So I'd like to thank you sir, where ever you are, for making my dream come true.
