WTFMan.com no longer sanctions the WTFGTA server

No Ryan, I am not appauled about Dave. I am appauled by the way you and NH are acting.

I simply can not believe that you two are acting like children. I have been coming to this website for almost a decade and I have never witnessed this type of behavior from anyone here. I always had a form of respect with this website because we all knew and loved the same thing. What kind of bullshit has this grown into?

So Dave used the WTFMan to bring in some form of gamers but... honestly, what? Do you really think that your website is THAT popular to attract this many people? I mean, get a fucking hold of yourself. I used to see days, weeks go by with no one posting on the forum and MONTHS before a news post would come up. Do you really think you got a fucking trophy here? 10 years this website has been up and all it has is less than 100 members. I call that a catastrophic failure.

He didn't need you or this website to get his server where it is now. It grew to become #1 because of the coders abilities NOT because of the WTFMan name. Ryan, I didn't even know you before but all I can say now is you are a 10 year old trapped in an old mans body with nothing better to do on a Sunday. It really pisses me off how much we kissed your ass to help us and even PAID you and this is the type of treatment we get?

And you can bet your ass that his loyalty laid within CCN. This website is going nowhere and obviously Dave's has MUCH more traffic and loyal members than yours had or ever will have.

You said that Dave bans anyone who speaks out against him but after 2 post from him you ban him? I am guessing I am next for this post, eh? Just run away and boast that you won instead of actually winning.

1> Dave used the WTFMan name to give the GTA server validity and bring players in. To think that his site could have done that is laughable else he wouldn't have used the WTFMan name since he had the option to use his other site's name... right? "FROMUNDA.COM Presents!".... who? No one would have given a shit, thus why he didn't do that.

2> I'm not in the LEAST bit threatened or whatever by (contains a smirk at the name) citizencoup for several reasons, but most prominently is that our websites aren't in any way competing.

3> My only problem with this whole situation is that Dave started off saying he wanted to be a WTFMan to do posts here. Then he starts posting the same things here as he was doing on his own site. Not exactly being a dedicated WTFMan, but yeah, whatever - no big deal I guess (even though it's never been done by any previous poster ever). Then he asks to startup a WTFMan GTA server and we discussed how it would help the site and all that since admittedly, our heyday was years and years ago (UO days and IPY days were obviously our big pulls).

So with that in mind, he setup the server with the WTFMan name and then started immediately funneling people to a site I'd never heard of before. I was against it from the start, but I didn't think enough about it to raise a stink. Over time and repeated mentioning of him needing to make it a WTFMan server as he named it (instead of just naming it that and then throwing up some links), it began to show that he didn't care about WTFMan and was just using the name for his own benefit.

4> And if you want to make this into a competition.... come back here in 10 years and tell me that citizencoup is still running. $50 says you won't be able to.

It's called an exagerration. Google has been up for as many years as this website and, oh my, look at the difference. You can DEFINITELY tell how much your website is booming by taking a look at Quantcast.

Dave might have used the WTFMan name but honestly, our staff and our coders made our server the best. Not your name, I have already said that once. All it would have taken is just a few people to come on the GTA server and realize that it kicked kung fu ass and as you and I both know, word spreads quickly.

So you blame Dave for throwing up a post on here and a post on his own website? So you want him to work twice as hard because he is a "WTFMan"? He had two different audiences with this website and with his own. I would have done the same thing without even thinking about it. It's a waste of time and effort to write completely different post for two different websites. I am sure that he has more to his life than contemplating whether or not he should make completely different articles.

Jesus H Christ. This really should have been a locked thread. WTFman.com is my favorite site/forum/wtfever on the internet and I would never bad mouth anything done thru the site. BUT Fromunda/citizenscoup always hosted forums and did most of the content side stuff on their site. It sucks to see this turn into a mass pissing match with everyone else throwing in 2 cents but... well... damn...

All the same. If the donations for WTFgta were going to go to anyone first hand. It should have been NH. NH should have in turn paid any costs incurred and cut a check to Dave for his work if the $$$ allowed. Just like the Divinity sponsorship WTFman and NH should be making some cake or getting some type of compensation. I looked at the two WTFman sponsored servers the same, someone else handled the assembly line while WTFman acted as the billboard.

At the end of the day. WTFgta & UOivinity would be 20-100 user max bandwidth wasters. So whatever else gets aired out for the world to see it should be known that NONE of this would be possible without WTFMAN.



In closing, I did not mean to offend NH, Ryan, or Dave with any of this. I've dealt with Dave more than NH or Ryan and I know Dave wants his own site and his own thing. Nothing wrong with furthering yourself when you see the opportunity arise. Hell if I was NH I would be pimping WTFman like a 2 dollar whore in attempts to make many $$$. This site has proven everytime that even when things look dead it can bring the PvP masses to a game.

Do you think I was sitting around shooting Dave email after email begging him to be a WTFMan? No, of course not. He applied, he put forth the effort to get onboard and such on his little own. His lack of effort once there was pretty disappointing.

Are you kidding me...

Premium bandwidth costs anywhere (depending on where you go) from 80 - 120 dollars per megabit per month. Because I am friends with NH I hosted the WTFMAN GTA server for free. If I was charging money for it that would be 210 dollars per month for bandwidth alone. I didn't ask for any money... I didn't ask for anything... I hosted it out of respect to NH.

My website... has 100,000 members... I think its plenty popular. WTFMAN's forums have been up all of a week and are growing... they lost their shit to a raid array failure. I don't see how this equates to anything relevant to this situation.
