Default And Iran... Iran so far away

Tehran is going crazy. REALLY crazy. I don't really know the names of the guys, as when it comes to news, I'm usually just a headline browser... but I know one guy supposedly got 2x the votes of the other guy, and no one thinks that is possible, so they started burning, and the government got all shooty. Can anyone explain this to me in better detail? I don't really know what I can believe from the news anymore.

The current extremist Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was behind in the polls to his more moderate Mir Hossein Mousavi opponent. The election results showed Ahmadinejad won by a land slide roughly 2 to 1 completely different than the results from the previous polls leading up to the election. He even won Mousavi's home district during the election. Everyone knows that the final say in the Iranian government is up to the radical cleric Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He is the person that chooses the candidates to begin with and he has backed Ahmadinejad the entire way during this election process. It is plainly obvious that the results of the election is a complete fraud that ultimately would anger any populace inside of a country.

The riots will more than likely die down over time with everything going back to normal. Sadly, I don't think this will be the fall of the current Iranian government just yet. However, hopefully one day that corrupt terrorist government will be toppled.

I like how imadinnerjacket bailed on his country and went to Russia for a "summit"
I don't know how many of you guys here are old enough to remember the 1979 revolution or the reign of the Shah but this looks exactly like history repeating itself. but something to pay in mind,Mousavi was a member of the revolutionary council and was prime minister for Iran from 81 to 89,yes he is a reformer but the government and it's foreign polices will likely stay the same maybe not on the level that they currently are.

also pay in mind that the president of Iran isn't the position it is here, the Islamic council headed by the Ayatollah has the final word in Iran.what would be interesting is that Iran heads for a more moderate Islamic democracy like what we are building in Iraq.Imagine that,Syria would find itself essentially isolated and have no choice but follow the regional trend.
peace in the middle east a real possibility with a little more diplomacy as well as a high possibility of cessation of weapons and quds flow from Iran to Afghanistan.
this moment could be a turning point in the world for real but in reality, you know ,the real world the situation is likely to be same old hat different wearer.
