This is why Obama scares me...
Obama Pushes for $50 Billion for Automakers, Oversight Czar
Obama wants to bail out everyone and oversee everyone. He really thinks that government is the answer to everything.
You gotta be fucking kidding me.

The only company not needing bailouts is walmart which still profiting. Hell you can get your haircuts, pedicure, oil changes, buy yard supplies, groceries, do your banking, eye exams, family pictures, file your taxes, get a walmart credit card. Pretty soon it will be a city where you can live in just like in the movie Idiocracy but they used Cosco. I get a bit off topic. yaa Fucking hate Walmart but I still shop there.

They need to give us the tax payers bail out money that way we can pay out bills to include all our debt and fix the damn problem. That $600 Stimulus check was bullshit

The only problem with giving taxpayers "bail out" money is that the majority of people would just blow it on stupid shit and not pay off their bills. They would then still be in the same position they were before.
I also do not like the fact he wants to bail out the automakers. It's their own fucking fault for overcharging for cars all this time. What comes around goes around IMO.
It won't be much longer before this country is in the shitter financially. I don't have anything in the stock market right now because the market is so volatile. Those massive swings back and forth scare the shit out of me. Then you see companies like Circuit City going under and even Bestbuy is saying their earnings are way down. People are just scared as hell to spend money.

Well with people spending all the money on stupid shit, it puts money back into the economy. That was the whole point of the stimulus. In theory it was a sound idea.
But if you're responsible with your money, like most people are especially now, that stimulus check went into the bank to pay bills, buy food, pay rent/mortgage, and for many... paying off a chunk of the credit card bill. Or they just tucked it into their savings account if nothing was pending.
The market is awesome right now for perspective buyers. Buying while everything is in the crapper provides a great opportunity for when the market picks back up... which it will do. It just needs time, like it always has when it's tanked.
The buyout... was retarded. I'm wagering that probably is going to hurt us more than help us. But then again, when you've got a chimp running things, what can you expect.
As for Obama... I think he'll do a decent job. Better than any of the other candidates that were up for the office? I don't know. But we'll see how it all works out. Better or for worse.

I did personally use it to paydown credit card debt that I have. Although I don't know if saying "most people" is an accurate statement to make when quantifying the fiscally responsible in this country. Part of our problem is that most people are irresponsible and have huge amounts of credit card debt, they buy houses they can't afford, cars they can't afford and then ask for the government to help tem out. The housing market wouldn't have fallen out as bad as it did if there wasn't legislation that forced lenders to give loans to people they knew were bad risks. Also some of the lenders took advantage of that and gave as many loans as they could to high risk people and then the CEOs reported record profits and floated away on a golden parachute.

This is unfortunately something that a lot of people overlook and it's absolutely true. QFT.

Well I use the term "most people" because I specifically remember a number of newscasts about it. On News 10 in San Diego (ABC), they went around and asked people what they'd spend their rebate money on.
A large percentage of those people, paid off credit card debt, used it as gas money, or paid up some bills. I think a few people used it for a night out on the town... but most of the people answering weren't going to buy frivilous stuff, as it was intended.

Yeah, they used it (like I did) to pay off previous frivolous purchases. :-P
