Heh yah, try the game out man I think a few jov are playing still. I wanted to believe in this game so much. For a little while I actually thought this game was going to be the uber. They really need to borrow heavily from UO in order to make this game more fun. Transportation is amongst one of my chief complaints. Its cool the first 10 or so times to cross country but man god damn they should enable fast points or some kind of gate feature better than the current nexus system that doesnt require a whole bunch of shit to make it happen. What would be really smart to do is to introduce a magic quest line that takes you to all racial alliance cities, wilderness banks, and spawn points to enable a transporter. So at least you have to work for it and its a great reward. Oh well maybe in 6 more months or more

Anyways I am finishing up point lookout for fallout 3 then looking forward to playing saints row 2 or something I havent played yet while I wait for Dragon Age and Borderlands.

I have completely given up all hope on MMO's there is no way in hell Mortal Online will be able to be a MMO in the unreal engine 3 and sustain 20 players on screen worth a damn along with all of its bullshit pay for beta blah blah blah. I wish also someone would make a new front page post of sorts.

I hear ya there, after playing Asheron's Call with their portal system they had setup, it's just hard to not complain about transportation in other games. There would be like 3-4 towns linked through a chain of portals plus you could tie to a portal and have it as a saved recall spot. Later in the game they added 2 different lifestone binds that you could recall to, you could house recall, guild mansion recall, last portal recall, portal recall bind 1, portal recall bind 2. Sometimes all the portals would get confusing but people made third party programs that would traverse a path from point A to point B using them, traveling was so quick.

Sure, the transportation system, or the lack of it rather, can be tedious at times but I think that's kind of the point. As I see it the whole idea is to make people settle down in an area where they can build their hamlet/city or live in an NPC city while making social relations or praying on other players.

To begin with there were talks about a world where it took hours over end just to cross the mainland. When the game released and it turned out it wasn't so I personally was disappointed at first but as the game is now I'm happy that the world isn't larger.

Also - using runestones for transportation is definately viable but only accessable for the more dedicated players as you first need to spend the time and regs getting the Anchoring skill (so you can mark them yourself) and secondly you need to farm mobs to get the runestones, which really aren't a common drop tho not impossible to get at all. It's a luxury to use runestones imo.
