I havent seen it yet ( i want to in imax but none exist close by) but 3d should suffice. I am really looking forward to seeing it this Monday as my region is being pelted with snow 6+ inches so far. Has anyone seen it yet and is it as good as I am thinking it will be?

What other movies are you stoked to see?

I want to see sherlock holmes on xmas..
Iron man 2 trailer looks sick.

Ok I saw it today in theaters in 3d and it truly lives up to the hype. Its absolutely a stunning piece of cinema. The effects, the sweeping camera angles, the animations, its just amazing. You get a sense of exhilaration as if you are exploring a foreign planet slowly unveiling its idiosyncrasies to your eyes. A sense of wonder and amazement that you get from being a kid walking in one of those aquarium tubes.

SEE THIS NOW..

9.8/10

I heard the story was terribly cliche/worn out and you're basically paying for graphics.

It is in retrospect alot like what people are saying I call it Dancing with Ferngully 2.0 but whats wrong with dances with wolves? It was well acted and it was a visual tour de force. A little derivative especially if you seen Dances with Wolves but its still an amazing movie that stands on its own merits even beyond the graphics.

This movie is pretty good, I didn't see it in 3D IMAX though so I have a feeling I missed out on the mind fuck of CGI.

The story was pretty generic, basically it was the colonization of america/Pocahontas except the natives win? z0mg *spoiler* did I do that right?

also the fighting was Starcraft... humans needed more minerals

Definitely see it in IMAX 3D if you do see it at all. The theater I saw it at was an AMC with a pseudo-IMAX screen. It wasn't dome shaped but the damn tickets were still $13.50. If you do see it in pseudo-IMAX, sit about 1/3 of the way back and for the love of god, wear contacts instead of glasses for those of you visually impaired. 3D glasses never fit correctly over your own prescription lenses. I plan on seeing it again in a true dome theater next time.

I saw this in 3d and was a bit dissapointed. I admit first that I am not a fan of Cameron. The 3d was cool but my ticket wad 9.25 quid. That is somewhere near 15 dollars. The 3d was spectacular but that doesn't make an average movie good. The dialogue was average but that's to be expected in an action movie.

It is worth seeing. I have mixed feelings about 3d though. It has it's moments but music and sound quality has a much bigger precendence in films. And both take a back seat to great dialogue and character performances.

Therefore this movie is only good and no where near great IMO.
