Default Let the Right One In

An excellent foreign film done by a Swedish filmmaker, “Let the Right One In” is a stand alone story building upon a story of young love and a murder mystery. The story is a work of complete fiction, although the reality of life plays a more important role in the film than the twist of vampirism. The story revolves around a new neighbor for a young and alone boy. He's having trouble making new friends, until he finds a young girl in a similar situation. Slow to start, their relationship builds upon her strength and his innocence.

Vampire fiction mostly tends to be cheese, with an interlude of crappy action. This story defies the traditional, and goes with an entirely new setting and tale. I would recommend at least renting this movie, and if you're a fan of vampire fiction then it is definitely a buy.

Um, are we talking vampires that actually suck human blood, or the kind that glitter?

I'm not sure what kind of vampire you're referring to that glitters, unless you're referring to Brittany Spears, or some other psycho woman. No, this movie takes gore and runs with it. There is slitting of throats, dismembered bodies, and self masochism on the vampires behalf. I would say it definitely does not glitter. I would caution the film has a brief scene of nudity, but it seems innocent in nature. It would seem odd to say, while the girl that plays the character is probably some where around 12 years old, she portrays wisdom and age beyond her years.

That's pretty funny. I actually watched Twilight last night. It wasn't horrible. Not the best vampire movie I ever watched though. Kinda PG13 chick flickish but it is also a 3 part series. I hope the next part is a little better.

I did not watch this bastardization of my favorite genera. I'm going to have to agree with Shoe, as you'll probably wind up with a lot of shit. Admittedly I wanted to see the preview of the movie when I first heard of it, but after watching it I found that I was not their target audience; 12-13 year old girls.

Whenever I see or hear the word glitter, I think of Mariah Carey.

4/10

Not a vampire movie fan, this one was kind of boring to be honest. Although the story was more original than other films ive seen lately I wasnt very intrigued by the plot. Thats all I have to say about that.
