The Dark Knight
believe the hype.... believe the reviews....
I just want to shake the hands of all parties involved in making this film.. The bar has been raised and it will take some sort of savant to make something better than this epic. Epic Win.
Shame about heath really I was suckered in watching the corn that was A Knights Tale and found him rather enjoyable as an actor, charming if you will. But this is.. this is his finest hour. The way the movie unfolds and is just so fluid from start to end never having anything that takes away. He is the joker, he could have really branched out from this becoming damn near Christopher Walken in evil status. If I had the opportunity to choose another comic book role for him it would have been carnage, if it had a better script he should have been Dr. Lector in that hannibal prequel for which the title is escaping me now. The entire cast is wonderful.. man i want to see it again.. in fact see yah in about 3 hours... its that fucking good.
See it.. feel it... believe it.. sublime movie awesomeness.

Going to see this on Sunday, so I'm buying into the hype so far.
HOWEVER, I cannot let the above comparison go without comment.
Please don't compare Walken and Ledger. Christopher Walken is the fucking man. Ledger is someone that couldn't handle playing a bad guy to the point that he OD'd on anti-depressants. Not even talking apples and oranges here.... Ledger just couldn't hack being "evil" because the mindset of the joker was so disturbing to him that it gave him nightmares, made him need to take pills, etc.
Waaaaa.... pussy.
I'm looking forward to the movie, but to me Ledger will always be a pissant that occasionally did something moderately noteworthy.

Fair enough but to be honest I was speaking based just off his acting performance. I should have specified as I cannot think of one role that walken has outeviled ledgers joker portrayal. You have to wonder when a person cant handle acting an imaginary role.. this wasnt Pol Pot or some super nazi doctor jewizza cooker. I will say this when you see this you will be geeked out. There is a reason that IMDB has it at 9.6. so back to the point just speaking on this role and compared to the others walken has portrayed to which ledger wins no apples nor oranges.

YouTube - The tooth fairy monologue
Set to Flash animation, but that was one of the funniest parts of The Rundown.

I saw this movie last night with a couple of friends. It was totally worth the money. The theatre was lined up out the doors, apparently people even attempted to camp out the night before.
The movie itself was amazing, the symbolism and action all rolled into one... The human character was put through trials of fire in this movie. I absolutely loved it. Even if your not a huge fan of the other batman movies this is a must-see. Director Christopher Nolan did an amazing job. The actors were amazing, Heath was sadistically evil and I was not expecting to see two face make an appearance. Very fun. *Standing ovation*

Saw it last night. Awesome. I almost can't believe that the studio let Nolan make such a great movie. Makes all other superhero movie look silly in comparison. I'm hopeful that Watchman will raise the bar yet again next year, but I'm a little worried about the overuse of slow motion ala 300.
Anyway, Heath was the Joker. If you have read even some of the seriously good Batman comics, they totally nailed the Joker. The Dent make-up was a little over the top for me, but how Harvey transformed into Two-Face, while not true to the comic, was skillfully done.
I looked at my watch at one point and was surprised that it was only an hour in. It's action packed and does not slow down the entire time.
NH, really? I almost laughed out loud at your comments about Heath’s ODing. You really bought into the mass media's over hyped, sensationalized rationalizations about anything? haha

possibly the most idiotic post ive ever seen you post but its your opinion, and i wouldn't be surprised if you recant on this statement later.
his perfomance was phenominal and he made it almost scary, if batman was a bloody psychotic horror flick there is no doubt in my mind that he would of been able to deliver.
as for taking the joker part to seriously that made him OD i highly doubt that was the case at all.

Well, I must say that I was indeed impressed with his performance. It was easily the best I've ever seen him do. The role was done beyond my expectations considering his past roles, to say the very least.
However, the fact that a role (regardless of how dark) led him to need anti-depressants and sleeping pills to the point that he OD'd on them... that's still pretty weak imho.
But, back to the movie, it was fantastic. Little long, but extremely well done.
