Default Any mechanics here?

Anyone here know about cars??

I got back from UK found out my 2001 Honda Accord (standard) hasn't been driven much at all in like a year. So, of course, the battery died and a tire went flat. I fixed those and started it. It has over half a tank of gas and the idle is bouncing between 2-3k rpm. So I figure I will drain out the gas. Anyone know how to do this easiest? I was going to siphon out with a hose.

I was excited the other day when I went out shopping, I got a new 27in iMac and a car battery then, dum dum dummmm... damn car problems.

P.S. iMac is pretty awesome. I got the core i5 and Eve looks sweet on it.

P.p.s. I tried to post on automotive forums but 2 forums i didn't get replies yet and the other had a 24hr wait to post a question. Dratz!

No, I sold my big screen plasma and my laptop was going out, the fan broke and it got hot. I got this to replace both but I am considering returning it for a 15% loss restocking fee. I might give the money to help out family instead and get more exercise and stick with my xbox live.

About the car, try an additive like Heat or something that adds octane to your gas, great for old gas.

Unless it has a drain plug on the gas tank, you cant really siphon out newer vehicles without dropping the gas tank. Most newer vehicles have a grate halfway down the fill hose. The best bet is to just use it up, then go to your local garage and have them do a "3-step fuel system cleaning" which costs $50-100 and includes a cleaner that goes into a vacuum line via a IV-like application, a fuel system cleaner that goes into the gas tank, and a thorough cleaning of the throttle body.

If you cant afford the 3 step fuel cleaning after getting the old gas out, then fill up the tank halfway with mid-grade 89 OR better yet premium 93 gas and get a bottle of fuel system cleaner [about $5] to put in with the [atleast half tank] plus/premium gas.

Cool. Fuel cleaner and fresh gas. Got it. Also needs inspection and registration which complicates the matter. All is well.
