anyways we meet every Sunday and are expecting realm battle soon,the Norman group Altair is meeting to fight our group soon as everyone coordinates should be about a 20 vs 30 battle.
I am building myself a nice set of leather armor so I can be better protected when on the field I would have been wielding my shield but the upper edge got exposed in transit riding in the trunk so I have to make repairs before I am lugging that fucking thing although I manage well with no shield.

hah,this is where my medic skills come into play.I have already had to treat a few wounds including setting broken nose.these guys shrugs it off and move on.

yeah I approached this with that same mindset but once I participated in a few sword fights I found I was a good swordsman and fight in a strong defensive style and was able to disarm opponents quickly through my fighting style which makes take downs easier unless it's honor dueling then I have to step back and let my opponent rearm.

mind you I was told by doctors I was going to keel over and run out of life just a year ago and the fact that I am out there able to do this is a testament to mind over matter.I find this the same way now as I do Guitar hero,why pretend when you can do the real thing and look better doing it.

laughing at it doesn't phase me since our practice field is also home to the skate park so we get yelled at by the skater punks but after a watching for a bit some of those guys are signing waivers and fighting along side us.

I mustve missed the memo but why did the doc have such a negative prognosis for you? If ya dont mind me asking.

Also is there an age limit? I can foresee some ignorant parent getting pissed cuz their kid came home with their nose in their lap heh. Now that I think about it those waivers would be void if it wasnt an adult signing.

doc had negative prognosis because i smoke and as all smokers eventually it catches up with you in a negative manner,in my case it was several things and still remains several things but diet,exercise and good mental balance makes it maintainable as well as a few differing meds haha

the age limit is 16 and that has to be authorized and verified.
most everyone out there is over 20 save 3 or 4 fighters however I happen to be the oldest at 39

Actually, I was thinking just the opposite. They're using safer weapons, but if they're actually beating the hell out of each other instead of RPing some bullshit battle ("lightning bolt!") then that's not LARPing. Someone getting a broken nose isn't part of LARPing either.

It actually looks like a lot of fun and a great stress release. I'd love to bash the shit out of friends with minimal damage being done to both parties - just having some challenging fun.
