Gizmo's Freeware Reviews is a great site for all kinds of free/shareware. All the utilities ive tried are free of spyware and junkware and have good reviews to go along with them.

I've been looking for something to replace zone alarm, so I'll have to check out that firewall.

I enjoy the immunization feature of spybot S&D and it's free. I'm not up to date with the latest and greatest freeware security software, but I think it works alright. Here's the link to download it:

Comodo works great and uses minimal resources. I've been using it for around a year and have yet to have any problems with it.

I forgot about spybot S&D, thats a great proggie, I usually have 2-3 spyware programs on the PC and run a check with all of them every few days. Sharing my PC with the wife and a child make for alot of stupidly clicked links.

You should give Advanced Systemcare a try. Its really easy to use and in under 20 minutes you can have your PC running like damn near new. also the Smart Defrag, Game Booster and, Smart ram are great add on programs for it. The Defrag has a drive optimizer that move the more used data to the inside of your disk so its quicker to access. Game booster shuts down all the backround apps you dont use as well as a few other things to maximize system resources for whatever game your playing and also has an option to defrag specific game folders so the more used data is easier to access. Smart ram is on par with most memory optimizers. I used to use AnalogX's MaxMem for the longest time and ASC's smart ram is the best ive used since then.
