And Five Finger Death Punch? Did you look at my list? They don't exactly fit in. Plus, I hate them.

The new Trivium album is...ok. Not good enough to get a mention in a year that was chock full of awesome metal though.

I consider myself a metal enthusiast of some degree and I rather liked ATR's new album. You also forgot All Shall Perish - The Price of Existence. And Born of Osiris - The New Reign.

ASP's The Price of Existence came out in 2006, Awaken The Dreamers came out in 2008, and while it was not a bad album, it just didn't measure up to the rest of my list in my opinion.

Born of Osiris' album came out in 2007. I don't have anything to say about these guys as I've never actually heard them. I'll be sure to check them out though.

Again, I say that there is no possible way you can make a blanket statement like that about Metallica's previous efforts. Load, Re-Load, St. Anger were all absolute fucking garbage.

And as to your Deicide comment, you're gunna have to bear with me as I tell you to fuck RIGHT off. Their first 4 albums shit all over a LOT of so-called Death Metal nowadays, and while they did slip for a while, The Stench of Redemption is one of the best overall Death Metal records in a long fucking time. The newest album however? Total shit.

I am curious, however, which "1 decent song" you think is good.
