WTF, Man? No DFO Update?

I don't want to go over the top, and I know there is already a thread up in regards to the DFO release, but my question pertains to the WTFman crew.

Why no front page update? I figured the announcement of DFO's official release would at least trigger a wtfman.com front page update within a week or so, discussion respective plans to play/not play the game.

Heck, the WTFmen aren't even present in the thread regarding the release announcement.

This game has been hyped for years by the very gaming genre that we all claim to be a part of. It may not be the golden eagle that we've all dreamed of to carry us into paradise (UO 2, anyone?), but its the next closest thing available, and I figured the update of the official release would at least warrant some sort of response by the wtfman crew.

So I say, wtf, man?

Hear, hear! I couldn't agree more but it seems everyone is busy playing crap or too busy to take notice. Can't peel away people from Rock Band 2 to take notice of the one game discussed and waited on as the second coming it is. We are all skeptical especially since it has quite the lack of info and advertisement, however we have to support this game regardless if you ever want to see it flourish or another game like it ever again!

I made a post in the release thread.

Until this game is out and actually kicks the ass it's supposed to kick, you're not going to see posts about it.

As it stands right now, I look at this game the same way I look at Shadowbane. Years of hype followed by utter fucking failure to deliver.

Darkfall has been in development since the dawn of time, and on top of it the January 22nd release isn't even a North American release date. As all of the WTFMen live in North America, I'd say that this announcement isn't all that "official" for us.

All this being said, I do plan to play the game, and am mildly excited about it. We've been around this whole MMO thing for 10 years now, I'd say that gives us enough insight to not get excited about shit until there is concrete proof that we have a good game on our hands.

Well, there is a difference between hope and blindly following.

Fanboitis is blindly following. Like saying DFO is the best game ever even before you've played it or seen it played outside of testing.

Hope is just hoping it's good and that the dev's don't cock it up.
