Now usually I am not an ass to post a new thread about an existing thread however I think this is a momentous occasion for us WTFmen and associates so as you can see its not 2008 but its pretty fucking trivial I AM SO FUCKING EXCITED YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

However we do not get it first or at the same time that kinda blows.

January 22nd 2009 Launch Date Announced for Darkfall Online.

Athens, Greece – December 5th, 2008 - Audio Visual Enterprises SA and Aventurine SA in a joint statement today announced that their highly anticipated MMORPG title Darkfall Online will launch across Europe on January 22nd, 2009. North American players are also welcome to participate in the European launch of Darkfall which will precede a North American launch.

I'm a little skeptical that they're doing a EU launch and not a US launch simultaneously.

I know I'm not going to buy a game that's only going to have a EU connection from the start with no projected US launch other than soon™ after the European launch.

The plus side is that they'll be able to run into all the bugs and whatnot before the US servers are up... but at the same time, I can very easily see this turning into a EU only game. If the game launches and is total crap, they might have a hard time finding a US publisher willing to spend money on a game that's buggy (which I suspect is why they don't presently have one).

I may be wrong but I think I heard there will be u.s servers up just they don't have the proper u.s distribution atm.

lol it be like playing UO back in the day. Living on the west coast trying to play on the Atlantic server... Lag FTW!

We should really be getting behind this release. Everyone has to remember it's prob gonna have plenty of problems in the beginning...but give it a chance. January, but it, play on the slow euro servers get to know. It's our only chance at the moment people...come on.

Investing time and money into the laggy version, only to have to reinvest time and money again when (and if) it launches in NA sounds like...a bad investment.
