I don't care about the marketing of this or that. The primary reason I got my Xbox 360 was Rock Band. It's a fun little party game and there is no such thing as a party game for PC.... period. I mean, when was the last time you saw a bunch of people huddle around a computer screen to play a game together? The last time I saw it was You Don't Know Jack (fun and funny as shit trivia game from a long ways back).

Generally speaking, PCs are solo machines. It's not a bad thing, it's just not designed for what I'm into at the moment. Plus, a lot of games come out for consoles way before PC and that's IF the PCs get the game. Aside from Rock Band 2, I've only played Saints Row 2 and GTA4 recently... but they don't exist for PC.

You should try fallout 3 nighthawk its pretty tits mcgee. Saints Row 2 while lacking some of the spit and polish of gta 4 is pretty fucking fun and funny in its own right. There are both valid points to both arguments to be honest. I hate the resell market and I refuse to sell games on anything but Ebay as I can control my return investment. Even though sometimes some games like Fallout 3 fetch a 30 dollar buyback from gamestop which isnt bad but I dunno seems short of the mark as well. Damned if you do damned if you don't.
I have all consoles but a Wii cause all I like is the first party nintendo shit: zelda, mario, metroid, et al. And I buy them for the exclusives or exclusivity 6+ month period that they have. Plus great thing about consoles that I find much more suitable to my liking is the level playing field. Lag aside everyone pretty much has the same controller and everyone can't really hack.. I dunno.. To each their own I reckon.

My friends used to play hotseat strategy games back in the day...I'm sure kids of a certain age now all play online though..

I live in New Jersey and I'm looking to diversify, check this out. I just bought two hundred shares of Shang Dow Energy from the stock exchange in Hong Kong. How cool is that; Shang Dow Energy? In Hong Kong........ that's China!

Hehe, it's in regard to Genocide's comment about E-trade. Figured I'd try to kindle a few laughs in regards to their commercials. Apparently all I managed to do was convince Shoe that I am crazy.

Ok, you got me on Rock Band. GH3 and GHA are on PC but that's just a two player. One thing you wont see on console is 64 people beating the shit out of each other on BF or other huge multiplayer games. What is the most people you can get on a console in a multiplayer? I dont have one so I am curious.

SR2 and GTA4 are coming to PC and I am sure with longer draw distances, higher rez, and more blah blah blah. The pirating asses have made the game companies release the PC versions later to quell them while the rest of us that actually buy the games suffer. I really wish someone could come up with a sensible DRM solution for the PC.

For the record I dont hate consoles, I just hate the companies that make them. Especially if one of them wins out over the others we are all screwed. Plus I love a good debate.

Yup, if you read the front page post that this thread is referring to, you'd see that I think that MMOs are exactly the strong point of PCs at this point. I've played plenty of multiplayer games both RPG and FPS (I hate RTS pvp, so none of those) so I definitely know and love that about PCs.

That's still a huge advantage for consoles, right? I hated waiting for what felt like a year later for GTA:SA and others like it for the PC. Keep in mind, I was a diehard PC gamer from 1992 through this year... I'm no stranger to PC advantages.

Clearly I don't hate PCs either. I just wish something MMO related would come out that I find to be more worthy than console games. I vastly prefer to pay $15 a month on a subscription to a solid MMORPG rather than $50 everytime I am done with a console game and want to buy a new one to satisfy my gaming hunger.

Oh man I feel ya on the wait. When Bioware, which is one of my favorite devs, release Mass Effect for 360 it seemed like it took FOREVER for the PC release. That is still the only game I have ever pre ordered. I cant wait for Dragon Age to come out.

After 3 years of SWG and about 4 in EQ2, I have been MMO'd out. Its like one day I looked up and said damn, I missed all of those other games I had been wanting to play. So the whole Star Wars The Old Republic MMO coming out is bitter sweet to me. I loved the KotOR series and really wanted a squeal but damn I dont want to get pulled into another MMO!
