I don't know who all here would care but this guy got me loving books. I started out reading Jurassic Park and it was amazing and I realized just how much better books were than movies. I've read the majority of his novels and recommend (Sphere, Jurassic Park, TimeLine, Eaters of the Dead) It is a bad thing hes dead because he could have produced so much more work.

He puts in a lot of science into his works which I just loved. Crichton was once my favorite author and I owe his works a lot.

Yeah he really knows what he is talking about when he writes about a subject. Like biotech with JP/LW, quantum physics with Timeline etc.

The books were so much better then the movies.

Fantastic books, blends reality with fiction.

I thought he was sort of young, like 47 or something?

Article said he was 66. That intro to Time Line was crazy good. I wasn't taken in by the action/adventure part but the scientific explanations were interesting with all the talk of quantum physics. Also Congo was a great read. Sphere blew my mind but I was just a kid when I read it; I thought it was crazy just like watching 2001 A space Oddity for the first time.

Jurassic Park was just action and science all the way through and it was incredible. Props on on the fat mailman from Seinfield (Neuman) he pulled off Dennis Nedry perfect.

I didn't much care for Andromeda Strain or Terminal Man but I think I read nearly all his books he had written by the age of 16.

I don't think I ever would have read books all my life if I didn't discover Crichton. Just like Rowling today who some famous author stated "single handedly saved literature," (for another generation) Crichton was the guy for my decade, atleast for me.
