Keep prechin bud. I enjoy logging on ever few months for a quick does of nostalgic MMO memory. Current gamers just suck, and you nailed it on the head describing why.
Welcome to the forums! Nice to see another DarkTider.

I have an entire guild of Ex DT'rs just waiting for a good MMO. Were sitting on ~500 unique players with a full ventrilo every night.

I've been reading wtfman.com for a long time now... just finally signe up for (another) forum.

So ya, thanks for the welcome. I'll try and post a little more here.

Damn. I was going to make a frontpage post saying pretty much exactly this since that is also where I've found myself.

Needless to say, I couldn't agree more.

However, I agree with Risks too though, since the point of his post was that WoW brought into the MMO playing world a bunch of people that really suck and we have no choice but to play with these morons if we play MMOs.

Indeed. I've been playing this a lot lately. If you can get past the slowness of the game, it has serious, serious, serious depth. Eve has so many facets you need a minor degree in nuclear engineering to wrap your mind around the game. If you can get involved in an alliance on the outer edge (0.0 sec space), there are always skirmishes if you go looking for them. And once every 3 months, a large scale war breaks out and lasts for weeks. Total chaos. Eve is no joke.

I'm downloading EVE as we speak.

Gears of Wars 2 in the post along with Darkness for the XBOX360. Think I'm set. The only thing I miss about the old days of UO was that just ONE game satsified me for nearly 2 years. Think of the money I would save if I could be that into just ONE game again. WOW

UO still captures my attention on Divinity when I'm bored, but I think no game will make me a single-game player again until Darkfall comes out, pending the game's delivery of promises.

Gears of War 2 was great, the Horde online feature is fun to play with friends who actually know how to use tactics. I prefer Gears of War over Halo any day.

Lately, however, I've been into Left 4 Dead, download the demo on your Steam account, you won't be dissapointed.

Yet another player who couldnt grind to 40 and quit early. Its nice to look around at 40 and see other 40s who actually give a shit about the game still playing. Now if only they would merge more servers so those of us who want to play together can....

EVE is damn deep. Just a lot slower than most people prefer.

I knew WAR was just going to end up being RvR 2.0. It wasn't hard to figure out when Mythic announced they were going to do it. Yea, nice that you can level off of PvP. But you're still levelling and you might as well just say you're playing WoW or EQ if you even think "Ding!".
