I just recently started playing a mmorpg called: Archlord. its very guild specific and the pvp is suprisingly very fun. The class skill trees are extremely expansive and it has a decent playerbase. I was planning on posting this in the game discussion section but there wasnt a general forum in its category. Anyways its a very fun mmorpg and i thought maybe some other people would enjoy playing it as well. It was once a Pay too play game but has recently become completely FREE.

I remember reading about that from the codemasters. I was never really impressed with it.

And like Internal said it went free because barely anyone wanted to pay money for it. And now its full of ten year olds trying to t-bag everyone.

Well, there is a fairly large amount of people that are intelligent. I haven't really run into that many tea bagging ten year olds.

I'm downloading it right now, I might install and find out if it's worth anything I might now... I noticed that one of the reasons they were always fee-free (no subscription) because they sell ig credits for rl money. Interesting idea, I think I've heard of other companies thinking of this idea but I dunno how well it works out for them.

After playing this for a while yesterday it is obvious that the game lacks a lot of the things that a polished mmo has. There is directional movement using wasd as well as a click to move option, I believe the click to move option is why there is no auto run button/function. I notice that mobs can make my projectiles miss and they can block, both seem to be just a small chance dependant on level since projectiles seems to always reach the target if in range.

I have yet to be able to attack anybody at level 8, when I go outside of town there is a warning that I am in a free combat area and there is another warning about items being dropped and you cannot drop items that you are "holding onto" which I think means equipped. I guess I am human and there are Moon Elves and Orcs as the other races so maybe you can only attack them kinda like DAoC.

The character creation is really limited and I didn't see a gender option so I think just picking mage forced me to be a female. I have noticed as you level up there are Stylist NPCs that can sell you changes to your character that weren't available at creation. Some higher levels are running around with wings and all sorts of crazy stuff so that part seems interesting.

I'll probably just play this here an there some to at least see how the pvp works, but as of now at lvl 8 there doesn't seem to be anything special. I play the crap out of Team Fortress 2 again now since Asheron's Call pvp died until I can get level 8 prots and vulns (without them it's impossible to kill a lvl 8 protterd person).
