Introducing my self
Hi everyone i just wanted to say hi. I have been reading WTFman since i duno 99 or so. I had registered under this user name or Drywall8 when the first forums came out but i guess that log in no longer exists.
My real life background is that i am a 24 year old US Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal Tech (bomb squad). Im currently in Afghanistan and have been for the last 13 months disarming IEDs. I get to go home in 2 months and im looking forward to getting back to my wife in Germany.
My gaming background is as follows.
The first MMORPG i ever bought was everquest the day it came out. It played like shit on my system so i returned it and bought UO instead. Best thing a shitty computer ever did for me.
I played UO starting in high school back in 99 with a few friends. Started on Pacific but ended up moving to LS to join some other friends i knew. I played a macer archer with about 80 hiding for the most of my UO career. I was sometimes red but usually just gray and instigating fights. I would steal peoples loot until they would fight me. I love pvp and could not get enough of it. The other thing i loved about UO was there were so many ways to steal from people just using your brain. I could never understand why OSI would get so pissed off at people that scamed others out of there money using there brain, no bugs. I the game had a stealing skill why couldnt i steal with my mind. I never used bugs or exploits but i did have a lot of fun selling cookie sheets i bought at the baker as rares for 10k. The other favorite of mine was making a female char and pretending to be some guys wife. I would go to trammel and advertise that i could make fish tanks in peoples house for a small fee. You know the kind with the stacks of cloth dyed different colors with fish floating in front of them. I would icq a few pics of my previous work then get started on some rich care bears house with him. I would have him co-own me so that i could lock stuff down then gain his trust and after an hour or so he would normally log off or go do something else leaving me to loot his whole house lol.
My AC days started within a month of its release. I played DT when the population was hovering around 100 or so. Loch was my first patron (he was about level 20 at the time ) but he was a bit bossy for my liking and demanded i make my chars template exactly as he said or get out. I got out, little did i know he would be the first monarchy to reach 1000 and i had given up my spot as #2. I joined the Anti-PKs in bashi under Gara. I had always loved pking but i realized that i could get just as much pvp out of being a anti pk enforcer as i could out of being a PK on DT. It was Sagacious Erif and i think Owen Goach that controlled bashi during that time. I had some great fights vs OG JoV especially Ron Azile and many others back then. My character was a UA spec run guy named Drywall. Later i made a pure melee run and jump spec UA named Zippo and leveled him up of nothing but pking on the newb circuit to lvl 35 or so. I got him a hollow weapon and ran around in society armor it was a blast. I had nothing to loose and so much run and jump that almost no one could lay a hand on me.
I have played all the rest like DAoC on mordred EQ2 pvp server AC2 WoW and a million others but none ever stuck the way UO and DAoC did.
My single player favorites are Fallout Baldurs Gate and Arcanum.
I currently plan on playing WAR and giving it a shot untill a real pvp game like Darkfall comes out. I would like to play the same server JoV guys jump on and maybe even join up with you guys for once.
Well im exhausted from playing poker last night and im off to take a nap.
P.S. I forgot to add that i used to be the Moderator for the Pk-Hq AC forum. God i miss Pk-Hq I was one of the oldest members.
