I played UO for too long. First on the original, then on Siege Perilous, then on IPY, then on UO Redemption. I honestly can't even remember why I played for so long, but while playing AC and Planetside intermittently, and finally currently playing EVE, every time, I can't help always thinking, "It's just not the same as UO..."

I think NH and I have this conversation every time we hang out. And I also get the evil eye from his wife Ally every time it comes up with means "DONT FUCKING GET RICHARD STARTED ADAM GOD DAMNIT"

Well, I will say that EVE is way more involved than UO was. And I like how you can train skills without having to actually be present. There's a lot to do in that game, besides the one basic way to make money in UO - taming.

And it is possible to kill some of the best ships in the game in EVE with the starter ships. But all in all, it still comes back to person a's ship > person b's ship. person a wins.

EVE definitely has the most satisfying wins and glorious defeats. I mean... when you die... KABOOM! It sucks that it's you... but at least you go out pretty. Of course when it's someone else.... it's just that much sweeter.

I've been on the fence about getting back into EVE for some time now. A good friend of mine still plays it. However the only reason I don't really get into it is just from the lack of time to play.

Good times there.

I have followed this site since Nighthawk's twilight years in UO. It was actually his glowing recommendation of AC right here on WTFMan that convinced me to check it out and try it(bye bye UO ). AC was a really cool game and I played that for a good while. I have since played several other games. Just things to keep me occupied until the next big pvp mmorpg.

Someday a developer will grow a set and make a mmorpg that puts risk back into the game. And also make it where skill matters. One thing that I do miss seeing on this site is more of Nighthawk and Co.'s gaming stories. I really enjoyed reading those. That was actually one of the big draws to this site back when I started reading it. Its still a cool site though .
