I will be getting Warhammer probably a couple weeks after it is out. Mythic is a really good developer and I really like the Warhammer universe that they have it set in.(darker fantasy)

Other hopefuls would be Darkfall but I have serious doubts about them. A new AC in the future?(Turbine just recently licensed the Havok engine so hey you never know)

Although I like fantasy settings the best, a mmorpg called Earthrise sounds very promising. I have read some big name interviews with them and it sounds very good if you like pvp. Massive Online Gamer had a real good write up on them.

The Chronicles of Spellborn kind of interests me too.

Well, looks like Aventurine actually released something on the date they said they would. The Darkfall Trailer is out, there's 6 parts on YouTube, or you could download about a 640 Mgb video that's much better quality that the YouTube videos. Darkfall looks to be completely ass kicking and exactly what us oldschool UO Vets are after. The animations are a wierd, but still, they wanted to keep the polygon count as low as possible to make LARGE scale battles possible, like 100vs100, so it's still pretty good looking. Looks like they had someone with freeform camera when they were recording most of the videos. Still pretty awesome.
Oh, and Darkfall Beta Registration has begun on the main Darkfall site, http://www.darkfallonline.com/ . Go into the Forum Main and there should be a topic about it.

http://www.youtube.com/DarkfallOnline

That has the link to all 6 YouTube videos.
The 6th one really shows the capability of Darkfall.

Yeah, Darkfall is pretty close to what we had with oldschool UO, and more. Incoming wall of text.

1. Darkfall has Full PvP. There are no "Safe Zones" where you cannot attack another player, not even cities are truly safe. Athough the guards will attack you (But they're not 1 hit killers) and you become "flagged", where anyone can attack you. Tasos Flambouras (Associate Producer of Darkfall) has already stated that they will not make a server with safe zones or implement it into existing ones.
2. Darkfall has an Alignment System (Kind of like Karma). You can freely attack players of the opposing Racial Faction without penalty, you may even gain Alignment. If you attack players of your own faction, you lose Alignment. If your' Alignment goes too far into the negatives, you become an Outlaw (Basically a Murderer). Even members of your own race can attack you without a Alignment hit, they gain Alignment for killing a Outlaw.
3. Darkfall has Full Loot. You can loot anything off of any body you come across. And no finding shit like a sword on a squirrel's corpse. Loot is realistic, what you see is what you get mainly. NPCs will loot your body as well, but only of shit they can use. Like a wolf would loot all your food.
4. Darkfall does not have Levels/Classes. It's based on a Skill/Stat system. You gain skills by using them, skills cap at 100 (Sort of). You can pick up and train any skill that you wish (Although very few of them are innate to certain Races), but the more total skillpoints you have on your char, the harder it becomes to gain. If you have alot in a skill, Skill Decay will kick in if you don't use the skill often enough.
5. Equipment does not mean as much in Darkfall as in today's MMOs. It will certainly give you an advantage to have better equipment, but not enough to compensate for lack of player skill. Since their is Full Loot, i'd expect it would be much like oldschool UO, we ran around in GM Armor/Weps crafted by other players, and generally had spare sets in the house/bank for when we got looted. Which means craftsman will have a very lucrative career, since they can make practically anything in the game, even ships.
6. Real Time Combat. There is no Auto Lock On/Auto Attack, every single Melee Swing/Arrow Shot/Spell Cast must be manually aimed. The combat is much like Oblivion's. AoC's combat was a sad parody of Real Time Combat with Arcade Style mixed in.
7. Friendly Fire. If you shoot an arrow/spell at an enemy, and someone else walks in it's path, they're gonna get hit with it. This includes melee attacks and healing spells. So groups will be alot more careful with their AoE effects, like big ass 2 Handed Weps have a wide swing, which can potentially hit your guildies. It also acts as a form of "Zerg Control". Small, elite groups can use their opponents' numbers against them with Friendly Fire.
7. Naval Combat. Like seen in the video.
9. Clan Owned Cities. There are a large number of areas where a clan (Guild) can build a city. The clan can then set laws/rules for their boundaries, like put certain players/races on their' NPC Guards' KoS list, etc. They can also control the resources in the area, like Mines/Farms, etc. Clan Cities can be sieged by any other Clan, and taken over. To be able to claim a Clan City, you must declare a Siege. After X amount of time, the Siege can begin, none of that 3:00 AM raid crap.

To put it simply, Darkfall is oldschool UO on Steroids.
