Musical taste is an opinion and I'm pretty sure anybody knowing anything about music would agree that they have great talent. They also sold a lot of records and sell out concerts so they're obviously not the "shittiest band."

As with most bands (unless they have like one good song on each album), most of their hit songs are far from their best.

Their last album sucked and the one before was okay, but their first 3-4 albums are amazing. Most of my favorite versions of songs are live ones. They continuely evolve their songs on the road...which you can do when you have a band full of talented people. Not just a band full of people who learned power cords. A couple of my favorites I didn't even care for the album versions.

The acoustic stuff he has done with Tim Reynolds is awesome too.
