One could say the same thing about Paint Ball. Same concept but less messy and less dangerous.

I am not suggesting I am against paintball, but just trying to make an illustration.

Honestly, Q-Zar was so much more than lasertag (with an s, btw... not a gay z). I had basically a huge second family of close friends that I constantly hung out with. When you had probably a close knit group of 2-6 friends, I had a close knit group of 30. And I mean hanging out every night for 5 years with at least a handful of them.

On top of that, I'm a gamer in all senses. From computer/console/arcade games, to sports, to whatever. I found lasertag to be fun and surprisingly competitive. I have 5 national titles, 1 world title and for years could walk into any Q-Zar location in the country, say who I was and be immediately known. I developed things in that game 14 years ago that are still used to this day and has led the US to every world title there has been with the exception of 1.

I would happily wager that there's nothing you've done in your life where you could say that.

So yeah, no hard feelings.

Heh. I wasn't going to post in this thread mostly because, yea, I don't find laser tag or paintball to be what I consider anything worth devoting more than a weekend a month to. It's not my thing. I enjoy it (paintball), don't get me wrong. Of the few times I did play it, I had a great time.

Point is, we all do things we like doing. Whether it be paintball/laser-tag (or whatever falls within the genre), getting achievements/trophies, getting high ranking characters in MMOG's, or more career oriented goals. Everyone pursues a different hobby.

And every hobby might seem silly to other people. Hell, I've got a friend who does nothing but collect porn. No shit. Porn. He downloads it like fucking crazy. In fact his nickname is APKing (Asian Porn King).

But hey, whatever floats your boat. Just don't go start judging someone about how silly their hobby is before you take a good long look at the entire picture.

If I could have afforded the food + game play of $10 a session I would have played 6/7 days a week

I loved laser tag and was always able to rank top 3 easily and I was/am a fat kid!
