I purchased Gears 2 and it was decent co-op but I attempted to play it a second time and found it boring. I will have to say no unless I hear some amazing things from trusted sources. I learned not to trust game reviews these days.

Wow, I've had the exact opposite experience. I have loved Gears 2 both from an offline story perspective to the online PVP (although I suck with a controller - I'm much stronger with KB/mouse in FPS games).

I will definitely be getting Gears 3.
