Anyone else picked this up yet?

I got it yesterday and it's pretty fun. There are some kick ass 70's and 80's era songs.

Bass is totally different in this game than in Rock Band. There is a bar similar to the drum kick pedal bar that you just strum and don't hit notes. Adds an interesting factor to the game

I havent tried to play drums yet. There is some sort of incompatibility with the ION set and GHWT. May have to pull out the stock Rock Band drums and give that a shot.

Motherfucker, I was afraid of that with the ION Drums. That completely sucks. Any word on if they will ever be made compatible?

That aside, I am definitely enjoying the game so far, it even tore me away from Little Big Planet. Guitar Hero/Rock Band games are the most addicting things ever, before I knew it I had played 5+ hours last night :/

P.S. - The goddamned Tool songs are HARD.

From what i have read, the game does not see the ION drums as Rock Band drums so it doesnt condense down from the GH set. Supposedly you get hits from 2 different notes while playing. I am keeping an eye on the threads I have been reading and hope there is some sort of workaround soon. I really want to play some of these songs on drums.

Yeah, I agree...time can get away from you really quick while playing these games. I had to force myself to turn off my console at 11 last night since I had to get up early this morning.

I have not got to the Tool song's yet. I assume they are pretty close as I am about 60% thru my solo career now.

Supposedly today there was a patch that allows the ION drums to play correctly in GHWT.

I will verify that here shortly when I go downstairs and try it out.

Edit: CONFIRMED! The ION drums DO work correctly now. WOOT!

There was a patch for both GHWT and RB2. Not sure what the RB2 patch was for. I would be willing to bet for compatability for the GH drums to play in RB.

I sure was not looking forward to pulling out the crappy stock RB drum set to play in GHWT.

Ah man, that is good news. Makes me consider wanting to buy that set even more now. The stock drums just "feel" wrong to me and as such I cannot play them. It could also be that I suck. :/

I kind of liked to play the drums on the stock set...but I Love playing the drums on the ION set. Even thought I am still working on hard (damn you foot pedal) I have a blast.

The ION's are definitely worth the expense if you plan to play them on a regular basis. Very low noise factor with these and they are extremely adjustable. The only thing I was not crazy about what the foot pedal so I bought one from rockpedal.com

I was playing this the other day at our drummer's house and... I'm not impressed. I don't like the feel of Guitar Hero compared to Rock Band and most of the good songs on GHWT I already have on RB2 either from the game or from DLC.

I won't be buying this which sucks because I was originally pretty excited about it. Oh yeah, the fact that you have to buy all new instruments because the RB drums don't work with it was also a deal breaker. $60 I'd spend. $200 I won't.

Ummm, the rock band drums DO work with this. They patched that long ago. It just converts it from 6 inputs to 5. (The 4 drums and the pedal).

The Rick Band guitars also work fine with it. I don't even have the crappy GH guitar anymore. It broke last year.

But I agree on the song choices. There are a few that RB doesn't have that are pretty decent.
