You think that global warming effects aren't going to have an impact on Canadians because its cold here during the winter? It's not about hot and cold man. It's about sustainability.

Insect infestations
(We no longer get the deep cold that killed the larvae before they grow up into little crop eating machines.)

Forest fires
(Water from lakes and streams that once kept the forest floors moist and cool and hydrated is all but drying up...)

Floods
(from melting snow banks and ice formations that were once frozen year round)

Drought
(Reservoirs losing hundreds of gallons of water due to evaporation.)

These are all issues we've faced this year and will probably face even harsher versions next year. It's hard enough to keep the populace alive without bugs and forest fires eating up the land we use to grow food.

Yes, the planet is RIDICULOUSLY over populated. What happens where the waters rise and even MORE land is covered in water? Even less room for our cities and towns. What happens when water has to be rationed and we have to make a choice between watering our crops and watering our children?

Your right though, you live in Canada, nothing bad happens here. Nothing bad will ever happen to you or anyone you know. and global warming is just a myth that we should ignore...

Maybe you are right, climate change is an act of nature and would happen no matter what... Doesn't that make it even more scary? That this might be something we CAN'T fix?

Adapt....? Are you serious? Humans stopped adapting the second modern medicine came into play. People that should have died because they are weak and have bad genes are surviving today because of modern medicine. Maybe if modern technology had not come into play and we were still on the path of Evolution.. Maybe then could we adapt to the climate around us. Your right we are set in our ways, we've carved out a future that relies on technology and modern medicine to keep us healthy. I don't think a human can adapt his way out of a paper bag anymore.. Were stuck. Viruses that infect us can adapt and kill us, but we can no longer adapt without a vaccine of sorts to save us and keep our immune system strong.. (Swine flu A.K.A H1N1)

Basically I think humanity is screwed. Isn't life a bitch? The world is going to end. You don't even have to be a religious fundamentalist to see that's true.

Global warming, floods, quantum explosions, Starvation and awfully big chunks of space rock falling out of the sky... All of these and more are great ways to go out with a bang..
